Durham Team and Officials 1989 County Rugby Championship Final. After a wait of 80 years, Durham again became outright Champions of England when they defeated Cornwall (their opponents 80 years beforehand) at Twickenham by 13 points to 9 points before a massive crowd at the HQ of English Rugby.
Rather fittingly for two such stalwart supporters of County Rugby in Durham and Cornwall, the match also marked the Centenary of the start of the County Championship in 1889, although both Counties were playing before that date.
