1944 - Hartlepool Old Boys' v Northern Command XV

What we know about this image :

Old Boys is one of the few clubs that managed to play during both of the World Wars,

During the second conflict Secretary Alec Middlemiss along with Captain Absie Winn were prominent in keeping the side going.

Games were arranged with Service sides such as the D.L.I., RAF Middleton St George, Royal Signals, Catterick, RAF Thornaby, Duke of Wellingtons, Manchester Regt., New Zealand Services XV and South Wales Borderers XV.

This picture shows a typical from those days, this side played the Northern Command XV in 1944 when an Old Boys Select XV was fielded, not all names are known but some are listed in the team box below.
