Early evidence of the rich seam of Schoolboy talent that has graced the Game in our towns over the years is this Handbill distributed at the All Blacks match in 1905 appealing for funds to buy the boy’s kit

At this time the game was, like now, being revived, at Schools level, this era featured a Schools League among the various Schools. By 1909 the first boy from the town was selected for the England Schools XV
