'British Vessels Lost at Sea' lists the steamship Kerry Range as being attacked, but not sunk, by a submarine on June 11th, 1917 (records show that she was ultimately torpedoed and sunk during the Second World War). However, the West Hartlepool Roll of Honour lists Reginald Cyril Johnson, a Cadet, aged 18, of 75, Chester Road, West Hartlepool, as being lost on this date, but as yet there is no other information to confirm this.
In this section you will find information, photographs and stories relating to more than 260 Hartlepool seamen who lost their lives during during the First World War, and of the ships they served on.
