A clean sweep of all the trophies entered in was the outcome of the 74/75 season for Tech Rugby with the Pyman Cup, Junior Clubs Sevens and the County Junior Cup all on display. Reg Clark should not have been playing as boys were discouraged by School from playing for School and Club on Saturday, some were even tempted to play Soccer on Sundays in addition.
The Pyman Cup and Junior Cup wins are remarkable in that they were both achieved against Hartlepool BBOB, the sides met at Mayfield Park in the Junior Cup Final with Tech coming out on top by 13 – 9. A week later it was Brierton Lane and the Pyman Cup Final with the score to Tech that date being 17 – 3.
Our photo shows the side at their training ground at Brinkburn.
