1931 - Cliff Harrison (Rovers) - Carl Aarvold (West) England wingers.

What we know about this image :

There is much in little in this tiny cartoon from 1931 for it records a unique event, Cliff Harrison (Rovers) making his England debut against Ireland (his ace tackling prevent Ireland from scoring on several occasions but they still made it by 5 -6!). However he made his debut at the expense of Carl Aarvold (West Hartlepool), probably the rarest event in local Rugby history, a Rovers player in the England team at the expense of a West player?
