Front Street after 1901 as the Marine Hotel has been built but Ashburn House next door remains & was not demolished until much later. The first licence for the Marine was granted to AH Eve on 6 January 1902. The hotel was requisitioned by the Military in April 1918 & again for the Second World War. Asburn House had been for sale in 1932 so was possibly purchased by Cameron's Brewery. During the Second World War it was used as storage for the Civil Defence. In February 1f 1946 many items went missing incuding blankets, hot water bottles & towels. There was no sign of a break in.

The Marine Hotel, The Front, Seaton Carew was built on the site of the Seven Stars which Cameron's Brewery had bought at auction in 1899 and demolished. It opened in 1900. The first proprietor named in 1902 as having the license transferred from the Seven Stars was AH Eve.
In 1918, owing to requisition by the Military, Cameron's were selling the furnishings by auction.
