Coronation Procession (2)

What we know about this image :

Although the weather was typically British, light drizzle of rain and heavy mist, the Hartlepool people were not to be deterred and still donned their fancy dress in the Coronation parade. The Lady at the front is being particulary patriotic with her Union Jacks and pictures of George V and Elizabeth, encouraging people to buy British Produce. There were smaller crowds than expected due to the weather which made people stay indoors and listen to the broadcast on the radio. This part of the parade took place in Lauder street (looking west to Avenue Road),  the Blind school just visible in the background. 12th May 1937.
