Upper Church Street

What we know about this image :

Dated around 1962-4 on reverse, a famliar sight to many will be the striped box beside the bollards in the centre of the road where a policeman would direct traffic at busy times from Stockton Street on the left and Raby Road and Victoria Road  straight ahead. Most of the shops are still there with new owners. Sutton Bros sold wet fish which was always laid out on a huge slab. Joanne sold 'posh frocks'

Church Square School can be seen on the far left at the time when it was the original Art College.
