The Seven Stars Inn was first licenced in the early 1800s and in 1899 was bought by Cameron's at auction. The current Marine Hotel was built on the site in 1900 and to commemorate this, seven stars are depicted on the outside of the building.
In the early years of the hotel, the owner John Corner brewed beer himself in the inn.
