Fate
The yacht HMS Iolaire was wrecked while trying to enter Stornoway Harbour on January 1st, 1919. The yacht had on board many local sailors, returning home after after wartime service. A total of two hundred and five men were lost, including Frederick Charles McCarthy, of West Hartlepool.
