Fate

on a voyage from Shields to Rochester with a cargo of tiles, bricks & coke Admiral Codrington broke her tiller during a fierce storm & came ashore under the Spanish Battery at Tynemouth on 10 February 1871. The crew of six were rescued by the Tynemouth Life Brigade using breeches buoy.
