Fate

The British steamship Westlands was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-53 (Hans Rose), 10 miles north of Isle de Vierge, France, on November 23rd, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Leith to Nantes with a cargo of coal. No lives were lost. Master T. Brown.
