Sun Inn, Durham Street/ Baltic Street, old Hartlepool was opened in 1861 and was demolished in 2008.THe pub was very popular in its early days when the area was known as 'California' . This was because people rushed to the area from around the country to make a fortune in the new industries much as they did to the gold fields of America.
