A busy day on the beach  near the south shelter. The clock tower can be seen above the beach huts. The image would probably be 1960s.

The Big Dipper shown here was a wooden construction which opened with John Collins' Funfair in summer 1950. In 1966, when the park was owned by Tony Lowe, it was dismantled and replaced with the Mad Mouse.

The Chair-o-plane, one of George Siddle's rides. He also had the Star Cafe on the beach and the fish shop on the east side of The Front.

Workmen were hurriedly constructing the dodgem track ready for Easter visitors in 1971. The track, at 90 feet by 50 feet was the second largest in the U.K., the only larger one being at Woburn.

Seaton Fairground is of course now just a memory.

In 1947, the Seaton Express, driven by a lady, went up and down the area of beach close to the South Shelter. At that time there were also rides and shuggy boats on the beach.
