There is conflicting information about John Patrick Kelly. His birth on Navy losses is given as 4th October 1886 at West Hartlepool but there is no record of this on national birth indexes. A further document records that he was 33 at the time of his death. There are a number of possible John Kellys listed in Hartlepool at the time.
He died on HMS Queen Mary in May 1916 and his wife Catherine at 1 Wood St was informed of his death.
