Masters: 1859-68 Henry Wetherell.

Voyages: 9 August 1861 bound from Hartlepool for London off Aldborough she ran into & caused serious damage to the the Cygnet of Yarmouth, which was at anchor.  

Bound from Hartlepool with a cargo of coal Speculation was riding in Aldeburgh Bay. A heavy gale was blowing & she drove at her anchors in shoal water & struck near the main & sank on 26 December 1868. The crew was eventually saved by boats from the Colchester smacks New Unity & Snowdrop.
