Tynebridge - a general history

Owners: 1925 North of England SS Co (Crosby, Son & Co Ltd) West Hartlepool; 1934 New Era SS Co, Newcastle-on-Tyne (FS Dawson Ltd mgrs)-renamed Mary Walton;  1937 Euxine Shipping Co, Newcastle-on-Tyne-renamed W. Hendrik.

Bound from Halifax for the Tyne with a cargo of timber & steel & a crew of 35 W. Hendrik was sunk by German Focke-Wulf Condor aircraft about 200 miles west of Ireland on 3 December 1940. Five lives lost.
