James Matthew TAIT born 2 Nov 1887 Sunderland and Thomas Gowland TAIT born c1896 West Hartlepool, were brothers, James served in 1st. W.W. possibly Coldstream Gds., and may also have served during the 2nd. W.W. Ser. No. 626519 as a Merchant Seaman. No further information on James perhaps someone else may know?

Posted BEF France 11 May 1915, Died of Pneumonia 22 Oct 1918, Aged 23yrs., son of Thomas Marshall Tait and Jane Ann Tait, of 2, Durham St., West Hartlepool, Buried at TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY, WIMILLE, Pas de Calais, France, {C.W.G.C.}
