1905 - Hartlepool Rovers - Starting a remarkable run in the Senior Cup

Under the Captaincy of George Carter, Hartlepool Rovers created a record in winning the Durham County Senior Cup five times in succession between 1905 and 1909. The run commenced in 1905 with a win over long time rivals Durham City when Rovers ran out winners by 19 pts to 4.

This photograph shows the team and officials on the “Old Friarage” field in Moor Terrace.
