Images and stories relating to the works of the Salvation Army in Hartlepool and the surrounding area.
There were citidals in both Hartlepool and West Hartlepool. The Hartlepool citidal opened around 1877 in Lumley Street and was replaced by a new building in Durham Street which opened in May 1969.
The West Hartlepool citidal was in Stockton Street and this as replaced by the current building on the site of the demolished Park Road Methodist Church in Park Road and on the corner of Lansdowne Road.
More detail »The Wesley Church opened in 1872. After closing as a church in 1973, it was briefly re-opened as a nightclub in the early 2000s, but is again now unused.
