A fateful year for the Boys Brigade, during the season, the club had divided, one group forming Hartlepool Old Boys, the other Hartlepool BBOB Association.
The 1st Company Rugby team marked the time with success at both County and local level, bringing home the Durham County 3rd Teams Cup when they initially drew 0-0 with West at Darlington. In the relay on Easter Tuesday, they accounted for the Claarence Road side by 15 - 8 on the Friarage Field They made i a double celebration lifting the Lormor Cup the same season..
