Carnival Raft Race

What we know about this image :

An un-dated image possibly part of the Carnival Raft Race. The beach, right centre, is where the old lifeboat house and fishermen’s buildings were. The wall, left centre, is the shore-end of the Banjo (Middleton) Pier. The mound in the rear centre, is before the Hartlepool Yacht Clubhouse was built (car park & observation post). The works buildings are part of Richardsons Westgarth. There are many cars parked and plenty of spectators watching the activities.
