Herbert Humphries

What we know about this image :

A Herbert Humphries hatter is listed in trade diectories of the early 1900s to about 1935 next door to Robinson's Coliseum building at 95 Lynn Street and this is probably the store on the photo. The image shows that there were further stores at 55 Park Road and 62 Northgate.

This window display is for Wolsey products 'Path to warmth and comfort' and it appears to be a rustic scene to promote woollen products in a 'natural home'. The clothing seems fairly expensive for the time, the photo showing that the shop seems to be lit by gas light.
