Private Percy Allen (right), with his army pal "Geordie" and a local youth, in Benghazi, 27th December, 1948. Private Allen, aged 19 when this photograph was taken, served with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (R.E.M.E.), attached to the Durham Light Infantry (D.L.I.), at this time.
