Taken in the mid 1980s, the bridge was finally demolished around 1991. It was for many years a bridge which went over the railway and through the heart of the Steel Works from Greatham Street to Coronation Drive and the seafront at Seaton.

The Steelworks Bridge was a pedestrian footbridge which ran from Coronation Drive, in Seaton Carew, to Greatham Street on the Longhill Industrial Estate. The old bridge was demolished with the demise of the steelworls and replaced with a shorter, modern one which only crosses the railway line.
