Fate

The British steamship Jersey City was torpedoed and sunk by U-46 (Leo Hillebrand) off north-west Scotland, on May 24th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Pensacola to Stornoway with a cargo of wheat. No lives were lost. The Master, J. Story, was taken prisoner.
