Fate

The British steamship Cotovia sank after striking a mine laid by the German submarine UC-49 (Kapitanleutnant Karl Petri), 2 miles South-East of Auskerry, Orkneys, on July 22nd, 1917.  The ship was on a voyage from Archangel to Dundee with a cargo of flax. Master F. Bryant.
