30 January 1872 in collision with the Italian barque Perseveranza off Haisborough. March 1872 James Noble was awarded a silver medal & a diploma, while master of the Marion, for the rescue of the only survivor of the wreck of the La Genevieve of Dieppe on 2 December 1869.
