Fate

The defensively-armed British steamship Carmarthen was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-50 (Rudolf Seuffer), 2 miles south-east of the Lizard, on July 26th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Genoa to the Tees in ballast. No lives were lost. Master G. Roberts.
