Fate

The British steamship Bayvoe was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-84 (Walter Roehr)off Lorient, on January 9th, 1918. The ship was on a voyage from Portland, Maine, to Bordeaux with a cargo of wheat. 4 crew were lost: Michael E. Balled (3rd Engineer); Magesan Nayudu (Fireman/Trimmer); Loya Nissim (Messroom Steward); and Eo Sevastiadis (Cook).
