Fate

The British steamship Bramham sank after striking a mine laid by the German submarine UC-47 (Paul Hundius), 10 miles east of the Lizard, on July 19th, 1917. The ship was on a voyage from Barry to Rouen with a cargo of coal. One crewman, 19-year old sailor John Vernon Wilson, born in York, was lost.
