Mr Derek Mitchell has provided us with this image of his uncle, Frederick Arthur Swainston holding the Elwick Horse Challenge Cup. Born in 1901 at Middleton Teesdale, he was either the farmer or was employed as a farmer at Low Throston Farm. The photograph is circa 1945.
