Probably taken in the early 1980s. The scene looking towards Stranton Church and the Brewery is now very different. Cameron's Bottling Store on the left was demolished about 1985 and a small retail park is there now. On the right of the roundabout, a large lorry park is now McDonald's restaurant.More detail »
The photograph shows the junction of Stockton Road and the then new Belle View Way as it was under construction. Ewart Parson's garage roof is to the right and a corporation bus can be seen coming out of the part of Stockton Road which runs through Foggy Furze. The Travellers' Rest is just out of sight on the left.
