The advert shows that this more 'upmarket' shop was selling ladies' suits for 6 guineas which is about £6.50. Most shops at the time advertised goods for example at £6.19s.11d which meant very nearly £7 Or £7.19s.11d which was almost £8.
The use of guineas in the advert showed a bit of class !
