The Canopus-class pre-dreadnought battleship HMS Vengeance saw service throughout the First World war and was scrapped at Dover in 1922.
While serving on this ship, Stoker Wilfred Woodruff, of West Hartlepool, died of an illness on December 9th, 1916.
