She sailed from Shields on 25 March 1864 on her first voyage bound for Calcutta with a cargo of coal & disappeared after she cleared the channel. She was fully insured & the owners were paid around £3,000 in December 1864. She was recorded in Lloyd’s Register of 1864/65 as on a voyage from Hartlepool for India with an intonation in the margin marked ‘Lost.’ Master John Tierney.
