Fate
On a voyage from Odessa with a cargo of grain on 7 March 1878 John Middleton was at anchor at Constantinople when a Turkish man-of-war ran into her. She was driven against the Turkish Nedj-Im Shefket & the British gunboat HMS Antelope which sustained some damage.
