Admiral Benbow - a general history

Masters: 1846 William Kidd; 1846-47 Isaac Finch; October 1848 Ralph Thew; 1848-53 James Thomas Mackenzie; 1853-54 Edward Tunmore (CN. 15224 Newcastle 1856); 1857 Mellanby.

Voyages: February 1851 arrived West Hartlepool from Lowestoft.

Bound from the Tyne for Riga with a cargo of coal Admiral Benbow sank about 25 miles off Pillau on 25 September 1857. The crew were picked up by the Louise and landed at Pillau.
